Time to get excited

With just over a month to go until Copyright Agency’s 2012 annual seminar, Digital Publishing Today, we’re getting rather excited about the speakers we’ve lined up for you.

The seminar kicks off at 12 noon with a presentation on faster access to content and what it means for education by Sabiene Heindel, Senior Advisor of Stakeholder Relations at NBN Co. Following on from Sabiene, we will have Dr Jeffrey Brand talk to you about the merging of games and educational publishing. Jeffrey is an associate professor at Bond University and specialises in communications and media.

At 1pm we’ll break for lunch. Please feel free to join us.

Our second session begins at 2pm with a panel discussion on e-book distribution. Joining us here are Mark Tanner from Google Australia, Virginia Murdoch from Booki.sh, Malcolm Neil from Kobo and Paula Browning, CEO of Copyright Licensing Ltd (CLL) and a key player in the establishment of Digital Publishing NZ. This discussion will be moderated by Copyright Agency’s International Affairs & Digital Strategy Manager, Michael Lijic.

We’ll then be launching our new guide to getting started in the digital space, Digital Publishing Australia and its complementary website. We’ll also have Scott Zarcinas from DoctorZed Publishing, Mark O’Neil from Cambridge University Press, Nick Atkinson from Hardie Grant Publishing and Text Publishing’s Michelle Calligaro there for our next panel discussion on digital publishing. Leading this discussion will be Zoe Dattner from Small Press Underground Networking Community (SPUNC).

Time to start thinking about the questions you might ask!
