Social newsgathering

The Walkley Foundation is running a short course on social newsgathering in Melbourne on 6 February and in Sydney on 25 February.

Social Media is a powerful weapon for journalists and other writers seeking story ideas, case studies, experts, photos, video and audio. The Walkley Foundation course focuses on research using tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as ethical and professional issues.

Supported by Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund, the training is aimed primarily at reporters who wish to use social media tools in their work, but the material will also be useful for anyone wanting to use social networking to explore the world.

Copyright Agency members receive a 25% discount on all Walkley Foundation events. For information about this and other Copyright Agency member benefits, visit the member benefits page of our website.
